Cody Hanken - Executive Director 

Cody was born in Coral Springs, Florida and raised in Slidell, LA. He graduated from Northshore High School in 2010 and then went on to get a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies from Southeastern Louisiana University. Cody has a long history at Camp Istrouma that started with him becoming a camper at the age of 10. As soon as he was old enough he became a counselor in training and then a counselor. He was a counselor for 5 years, Senior Staff for 1 year, Program Director for 4 years and is now serving as the Executive Director. Cody has a lot of love and passion for God and Camp Istrouma. Cody’s favorite thing about working at camp is that the Lord gets to use him to impact people’s lives and that he gets to work at the most beautiful place on this Earth. In his free time, Cody likes to spend time with his wife Mary and their son Crue. Cody is always working to strengthen his relationship with Christ by serving others, worshiping, and prayer. Cody’s favorite Bible verse is John 3:14-15, “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

Mac Courtney - Program Director

Mac grew up in the greater Baton Rouge area. He has received his Bachelors and Masters degree from Southeastern University in History. Camp Istrouma has been infused in Mac’s blood for over 10 years now. Working in capacities such as camp counselor, senior staff, director’s intern, and now program director. Mac is married to his wife Madi, whom he met while they were both working as camp counselors. They have two beautiful daughters Jemma and Autumn. Mac’s favorite thing about working at camp is the opportunity to spread Gods love in the beauty of his creation.   He believes that camping ministry has a special opportunity to bring the focus of campers to the Lord because of being in nature away from a lot of the distractions of the modern world. Mac's favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 2:8: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God"
