Raising the Roof

New Director's HouseConstruction has started and steadily moves forward.  It’s truly amazing to watch how a house is built.  It all starts with a good foundation.  It reminds me of the scripture in Luke, when Jesus talks about the wise and foolish builder. Luke 6:46-49 reads, "46Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? 47I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. 48He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock.

When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."
When talking with our contractor from Cretin Homes, he told me that we chose the best dirt for our foundation and that it was strong.  I thought to myself, what are we doing in regards to the spiritual foundation that we are building upon with the children and youth that attend our summer camps?  As Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 3:11, “11For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”  Monique and I have been praying for wisdom and understanding and that our Lord and Savior will guide all those who will be involved with summer camp. We believe that God wants us to step it up this summer and have a “Breakthrough”.  Let’s raise the roof.
